Killington, Vermont – A Skiing Paradise

Home to a well-known ski resort of the same name, Killington is a town in Rutland County, Vermont, United States. The population was 1,095 at the 2000 census. Approved by the Vermont General Assembly on April 27, 1999, the town was voted to change its name to Killington on March 2, 1999. Previously the town was named Sherburne.

With seven mountains of downhill skiing with well over 30 lifts, plus over 50 kilometers of cross country trails, Killington is said to be one of the premier ski resorts in New England.
